There are eleven wrestlers with varsity experience returning, and some good numbers behind them for depth, as the Titans head into the 2018 season.
The big returner in the lineup for Keansburg is junior Liam Riecks, a Region qualifier last season after placing 3rd in the District. He'll be the anchor in the top of the lineup that, outside of fellow returning starter Oscar Trujillo, will consist of a lot of new faces.
The bulk of the experience returning for The Burg is down low. Six wrestlers with varsity experience check-in in the 106-132 range led by junior Patrick Edwards, a 13-bout winner last season, and Hector Triana, one of two returning senior starters in the lineup. Those two can provide leadership for the young group in the 106-120 slots. That 106-120 group will be a big key for the Titans. If the sophomores down there, that got in good varsity experience in 2017, can take it to the next level, they, along with freshman Jesse Berecsky who has good potential, can give the Titans some nice production in the lower weight classes.
As usual, the numbers are pretty solid for Keansburg, the third smallest public in the Shore. It's a great reflection on the coaches and the enthusiasm instilled in the program. With a full lineup, the team can take its shot at the usual divisional contenders in Pt Beach and Shore, and look to beat the programs of similar size. If the returners take it to the next level this season, and the newcomers come along, Keansburg should be able to rack up the wins and aim for their first winning season since 2013.
